Sky Guide & Planning
The sky changes while your camera stays in one place. Sky Guide lets you move through time and look around the planned view before setting the tripod. Sun and Moon positions, star paths and the horizon help you decide where the subject will be during the session.
Captured Android interface. Illustrated scenes in camera views.
Sky Guide & Planning, on Android
Choose the time before you choose the shot.
Use the time controls to compare the start and finish. The predicted trail view shows the movement to expect over the selected period. Layers let you choose which sky information is useful, and object search gives you a direct route to a target such as M31.
Check the planning location before relying on the view. A saved destination and the device location can produce different horizons and times. The sky view is a planning model; the weather and your line of sight still decide what the camera will actually see.
Before the full take
- Choose the planning location.
- Scrub through the intended time window.
- Check the target, field of view and horizon.
